Chill Pill  - Unwinding With Movement

The following is my personal experience and opinion only.

 

Forget the pills for creating comfort and ease. Really. I am not a doctor and do not advocate giving up your medicine. However, if you are here exploring the Method, you will probably make choices for yourself that gradually move away from the chill pill philosophy. Perhaps you will learn to embrace the journey to your Self. Perhaps you will learn what you need to do to create ease in your nervous system.

 

If you insist on using the pills, you will probably find a very thorny path laid out in front of you. A good friend once told me - "Pam, it is not good to experiment with psycho-pharmaceuticals." you know, he was right. But explored I did as that is what my doctors recommended.

 

Doctors in the past have been prone to hand them out like candy after asking if one is: Anxious? Depressed? Out of sorts? 

Perhaps you will become your own Physician in time, just as Dr. Feldenkrais did. 

If you are struggling with the Chill Pill, maybe you think there is another way.

 

Perhaps better than the chill pill is religion? Added into the medication model, we have the possibility of getting so lost, we may never find our way.

 

Religion did not work for me. We all do need a spiritual practice. That is different than religion.

 

It is interesting to me that my Educational Director was a Buddhist. I have been allied with the Tibetan Buddhist Way since I was 15 years old. However, for society's sake, I profess to be an Episcopalian as that is how I was raised. 

I believe now more than ever that instead of religion, I can and do choose to connect with the Creator. Even if it is the Big Bang and the Universe came into being from a spark a billion times smaller than the head of a pin, something sacred happened in that moment in time. Some Thing was the first Creator.

 

I still retreat to Buddhist Philosophy for comfort in knowing that reincarnation is like the Method. Each lifetime we create a form to explore another aspect of Human Development. We come into a lifetime in a body form and with each life we evolve into more direct choices for our Life Path. 

From the Karmic Wheel we can move to the Transitional Wheel and from the Transitional Wheel to the Transformational Wheel.

 

If our lifetime in this form is one of Transiton, then we are fortunate to have discovered Dr. Feldenkrais' Thought Experiment. 

 

Instead of pills, instead of religion, movement has become my medicine. 

 

Gratefulness has become my practice.

 

Compassion is mine to learn.

 

Kindness is a valid way to walk through this life.
