What is Feldenkrais?
To me, The Feldenkrais Method is the pursuit of kinesthetic awareness that will connect us with the body and Self. I believe that the mind will rebel as it wants speed and smooth sailing. The mind wants no obstacles and instant gratification. In my reading these past few months, I find that many people say that the Method will be a good way to connect mind and body. Perhaps in that connection, one can find the True Self. I hope so. It is in my pursuit of this ease of being myself that I am now interested.

Without the mind and body as an integrated whole, we can go almost nowhere. That hurts not only our Self, but all of our community and the world at large.
So...How to proceed? How to be at one with the nature of our Self? How to Be in the World?
If we engage in friction and discomfort in the exploration, we tend to force ourselves into something that can hurt our body. If we hurt our body, we will not wish to continue exploring the Nature of Self as a miracle in a human form. If we explore with care, we can reach levels of ourselves that we only dreamed of and hoped were possible. It is then that we can begin to teach the Method to those who seek us out for help in their quest to find some comfort in their bodies.

This, then, is The Feldenkrais Method. To me.
The Feldenkrais Method requires patience. The Method requires that we "not rehearse pain" and that we become open to exploring our own body. Our Body is Our Friend. It is that hope that keeps me exploring the Method.
